Kolasin Hotels

Like to hike or enjoy the great outdoors? Want to escape city living in one of the most stunning areas of Montenegro? Take a trip to Kolasin, which is a small town in the north of the country that’s home to two glorious rivers – the Tara and the Moraca. Mountains stand tall at every turn, so the views here are spectacular. Be sure to check out the Biogradska Gora National Park, which is home to one of the finest virgin forests in the world.

Bianca Resort and Spa

During the summer months, this four-star hotel and spa is the perfect base for hiking and exploring. But it really comes to life in the winter, when the snow lies deep and think. Regardless of when you visit, however, the mountainous vistas are always there – impressing everyone lucky enough to see them.

Guests have some fabulous facilities and amenities to enjoy during their stay at the Bianca Resort and Spa, including gorgeous gardens and an outdoor pool. Of course, there’s no chance you’ll be using that during the winter, which is why the owners installed a heated indoor pool, too. An Alpine-style bar and an internationally themed restaurant with an outdoor terrace complete what is a truly remarkable hotel experience.

Top Tip: Ask for a room with a mountain view! And if you visit at New Year, ask about the special packages on offer, which include a room or suite, food, drinks, and entertainment.

Swisshotel Resort Kolasin

Alpine-themed with the character and feel of a fabulous Montenegrin hotel, this stunning resort looks great all year round – particularly during the winter skiing season.

Four-star accommodations and facilities are only the beginning of what’s on offer at the Swisshotel Resort in Kolasin. There are several services and facilities for skiers, including ‘door to ski slope’ access, storage areas, equipment hire, and plenty of apres ski opportunities.

All guests are treated to free parking, free high-speed WiFi, and a sumptuous continental breakfast each morning. Without a doubt, this is one of the best hotels in Montenegro – particularly for winter sports enthusiasts.

Top Tip: Not all the rooms offer a mountain view, so email the hotel before you arrive and request one.

Modern Mountain

Want to enjoy the very best “apres-ski” money can buy? Head to the four-star Modern Mountain Hotel, which is one of the best hotels in Kolasin and Montenegro generally. This beautiful winter resort boasts a landscaped garden, a gourmet restaurant, and a charming bar.

The smallest room here is a deluxe king suite, which offers a workstation, free WiFi, a coffee machine, and a mini-bar. The superior king suite offers more space and an extra bed. If you’re traveling as a family and want self-catering facilities, choose a deluxe apartment, which can sleep two adults and two children or three adults. Just make sure you request a room with a terrace, as not all of them have one.

Wood paneling, ambient lighting, and exceptional furnishings make this one of the most sought-after winter retreats in Kolasin. The slopes are just a short walk away, so it’s perfect for skiing and after-ski activities. Ask at reception for ski equipment hire options.

Top Tip: Some of the rooms at the Modern Mountain Hotel have mountain views, but they’re limited in number. Book well in advance, and request a room with a view via email to avoid disappointment.

Hotel Cile

This clean, budget-friendly three-star hotel offers the perfect base for a skiing trip to Montenegro. While relatively new and basic, there’s plenty to enjoy about this functional hotel, including free WiFi, free parking, and a homely bar.

Every room in the Hotel Cile comes with a workstation, an HD television, and all the facilities you’d expect to find in a mid-range European hotel. But what you won’t find in other hotels are the incredible winter landscapes that surround you when you rest your head in this charming lodge.

Top Tip: If you’re flying into Podgorica Airport, which is around 70 km from the hotel, call ahead and enquire about their airport shuttle – it should be cheaper than taxis or other forms of transfer.
